     A yearlong effort by our R&D team resulted in an invention that revolutionized the display of mathematical equations in Advent's 3B2. Up to that time, 3B2 did not support MathML DTD, a concept that is fast finding favor in the industry. Our scientists succeeded in inventing a method to incorporate MathML DTD in 3B2 – an invention that accelerated the automation process to an extent that it is used the world over today.

     Copyediting involves the thorough perusal of a manuscript for mistakes in grammar usage, spelling, punctuation and ensures adherence to a particular style. Copyediting focuses on word choice, transitions, and overall fluency as well as correct and continuation style in spelling, punctuation, capitalization, hyphenation, grammar, numerals, and abbreviations. This includes poor syntax, clichés, mixed metaphors, factual inaccuracies and plagiarism.

     Line editing (also known as story, substantive editing) entails substantial work on a manuscript which may involve light rewriting, reorganizing, more effective presentations. Our line editors highlight problem areas while making every effort to preserve the author style. This level of editing also focuses on eliminating wordiness, confusing statements, vague generalizations, mixed metaphors, gaps, jargon or overuse of slang, use of passive voice, sexist or racist language (clarification of intention), and ensures coherence, consistency of tone and focus, logic, and manuscript organization.

TeX and LaTeX

     We specialize in handling complex mathematical & scientific composition using TeX/LaTeX. We can undertake jobs in TeX or LaTeX with customer provided style/class files; alternatively, we can develop style/class files based on your specific needs. This is ideally suited for heavy mathematical and scientific sets. TeX offers the versatility of being platform-independent.

     Our in-house production team with Latex2e is a high speed and versatile auto pagination and conversion system that can paginate from source SGML/XML files - an ideal solution for clients publishing in different media with full-text of SGML/XML.

     Since we specialize in handling heavy mathematical/complex sets using Latex2e features, as part of production support we have developed a big range of style/class files.

Workflow

How we Work

	Full checking and proofing procedures for typesetting & artwork.
	Extensive font libraries, including several hundred Japanese, Chinese & Korean fonts.
	Artwork supplied in precisely the format and in the program required by the client - as text, EPS, tiff, jpeg, PDF, as final artwork, etc.

     In case of electronic files provided by the customer, after checking your work for spelling, punctuation, and stylistic errors we'll send you several sets of sample pages, with different design elements for you to choose from.

     Error free text with embedded tags received from the production department is loaded in the relevant page make-up software to begin formatting of the book. Next we'll send you a complete formatted galleys for you to proofread and mark up, or the formatted pages are then printed and moved to the Quality Assurance department for proofreading.

     We'll also send you a proof or "dummy" of the page makeup after your book has been typeset.

     Finally we will inspect the blueline before your book is printed.

Quality

     Starting with hard copies of manuscripts and/or unedited electronic files, we edit them to the extent our clients specify, and proofread them before sending them off to the authors for their approval. Upon hearing from the authors, we incorporate their corrections and proofread them once again. Finally, we prepare the PDF/XML/SGML files for dispatch.

     Needless to say, we stay in close touch with our clients every step of the way to ensure that we are working toward a result that they would like to see.
